The official mascot of Toranomon Hills

When you enter the Toranomon Hills from the approach on the Atago street side, on the other side of the café on the second floor, you can find a mascot which at a glance looks like Doraemon. His face looks exactly like Doraemon, but when you look closely, he has ears, his color is white and striped.

Many people recognize his name as “Toraemon”, but actually, his name is “Toranomon” (Tora is a Japanese word for a tiger, and the creator named it with a sense of humor). It is not an imitation. Mori Building had requested the creator of Doraemon to produce the genuine character. As for proof, I will attach a photo of “Toranomon” standing beside “Doraemon” soon after the launch of the building.

Toranomon says he came on a time machine from Tokyo in the 22nd century, and he is a cat type business robot. He thinks of himself as a brave tiger. His favorite food is “Torayaki” with tiger stripes. In his fourth dimensional pocket on his stomach, there are many items that will open up the future of Tokyo.

By the way, don’t you wonder why “Toranomon” is white? If it is a tiger, it should normally be orange.

While writing this series, I suddenly came across an idea. As I had introduced in the 1st issue of this series, it might be related to the origin of the name “Toranomon”, white tiger. If this assumption is correct, it can be said that it is a venerable mascot.
