The World Trade Center Building South Tower (office tower) started construction: launch of the “Hamamatsu-cho 2-4 District A Plot Urban Redevelopment Project”

The World Trade Center Building South Tower (office tower) started construction on September 7th, 2017. This is the first establishment in the “Hamamatsu-cho 2-4 District A plot urban redevelopment project” which is being carried out by 4 companies dominated by World Trade Center Building Corporation, associated with Kajima Corporation, Tokyo Monorail Co., Ltd. and East Japan Railway Company Ltd.

This project is located in the Special purpose plots for urban revitalization that had been approved in March 2013. The project is to create a highly cosmopolitan international communication zone, by making use of the potential of Hamamatsu-cho Station which is the gateway to Tokyo, to rebuild the Tokyo Monorail Hamamatsu-cho Station and the bus terminal in order to strengthen the traffic node function around Hamamatsu-cho Station.

In addition, it will reinforce international competitiveness by introducing the function of “MICE”; supporting foreign residents, through transportation, and tourism; and creating a symbolic international business hub with the size of approx. 280,000 square meters that consist office towers and commercial buildings.

Furthermore, the project will continue to create an advanced and attractive city which includes a network of pedestrian decks to connect the Hamamatsu-cho Station and its surrounding blocks, spaces to accommodate people when natural calamities occur, and other supporting functions.

The World Trade Center Building South Tower is the tallest building to go through a rebuilding project in the history of Japan.
